Another day into the road trip, confidence building up to continue this journey.
Having friends from different parts of India helps in getting some jugaad done to save up some money on stay plus one gets to see the more real and local side of the place. Another plus is this platform called CouchSurfing, where one gets to meet locals and maybe even get an opportunity to stay with them.
The roads were in pretty good conditions for most of the patches. Having heard that it had been raining quite heavily in these parts of Rajasthan and that the roads were waterlogged, luckily didn’t face any issue as such. While crossing Pali could see that the few internal roads and ditches off the highway were still waterlogged.
Managed to reach Prateek’s place in Jodhpur in the afternoon. On entering the city, one could sense the pace of the place and know what the hustle and bustle of Bombay really is.
He had made few arrangements for my lunch at one of his favourite places, Gypsy, for a Lunch Thali, which was just what one needed to experience the flavours of Rajasthan, the daal bhati, the thorn pickle, etc.
Post which got some rest and met up with a new acquaintance through CouchSurfing, Vinamra. Being a traveler by passion, with interests in photography showed me this spot nearby Masuriya Pahadi. Was a great way to unwind and watch the sunset with the city lighting up.
